Program J

Program J (J as in Jovem in Portuguese) was developed within the scope of the Youth for the End of Violence Project. This pilot project ended its 3-year cycle in December 2017 and was financed by the United Nations Trust Fund to Support Actions to Eliminate Violence Against Women, (UNTF).

Program J aims to build an intervention based on methodologies already tested and proven to prevent violence against young people in scenarios of high urban violence (Brazil) and other parts of the world.

Inspired by the H, M and Living Peace Programs (Promundo) and the Expect Respect Program (adopted in public schools in Austin, USA), in addition to creating original content, we developed a flexible curriculum with an intersectional approach to work on violence prevention with youth.
