Miguel Fontes, PhD
Founder and CEO
Dr. Miguel Fontes has experience in the development and impact assessment of Early Childhood Development (ECD) programs. He led the first national strategic plan for ECD in Brazil in 2001, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Assistance. He is the founder of PROMUNDO, one of the leading organizations in involving men in fatherhood and early childhood care worldwide. He also has experience in Social Impact Assessment (AIS), data collection, research design and project evaluation and social mobilization, and has worked on several child and youth development projects. His field of expertise is the development of sustainability strategies in Latin America and the United States. He has a degree in Business Administration from Universidade Católica de Brasília, a master’s degree in International Relations and a doctorate in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University.
Program Senior Consultant
Luciano Ramos is a Senior Program Advisor at Promundo. With experience in education in gender and sexuality, including approach to masculinities, paternity and Men’s Health, working since 2018 in projects related to these themes with Promundo. Luciano is a specialist in Training for professionals in the Third Sector, Governments and Companies in the aforementioned themes. He brings together experiences of advocacy through participation as a Counselor for the Rights of Children and Adolescents in Duque de Caxias, Rio de Janeiro, between 2012 and 2016 and through the articulation of the National Movement for the Family and Community of Children and Adolescents. Luciano has experience in managing Community Development Programs, having previously coordinated projects of the Brazilian Association Terra dos Homens. In recent years, Luciano has also facilitated strategic organizational planning, in addition to applying courses and workshops for social professionals. He is a training historian with a specialization in Public Policies for Children from the Latin American Nucleus at Harvard University
Research and Evaluation Senior Consultant
Rodrigo Laro is a doctoral candidate in Public Health at the Faculty of Health of the University of Brasilia (UnB) with the theme: Cost-Effectiveness Assessment of the National Health Promotion Program for Adolescents and Young People Sexually Exploited. He has a master’s degree in Social Management and Labor from the Administration Department of the same Institution and a specialist in Applied Statistics and Social Marketing and Social Mobilization. He has a degree in Social Communication. He has 16 years of experience in conducting research and evaluating programs and policies with Development Bodies, Companies, Governments and the Third Sector. Among the projects carried out, the themes of gender equity, promotion of integral health and human development of children, adolescents and young people in vulnerable conditions are present.
Bruna Martins Graduada em Antropologia e Graduada em Ciências Sociais pela Universidade de Brasília. Atualmente, através de um Estágio, colabora na Investigação e nas ações de intervenção do Instituto Promundo. Estagiou no Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (CCBB) em Brasília entre 2019 e 2020 atuando como Arte Educadora. Está vinculada ao Programa de Educação Tutorial – Conexão Saberes desde 2018. Foi bolsista do CNPq com o trabalho Está na bebida? Levantamento bibliográfico sobre saúde mental, alcoolismo e bem-estar dos indígenas no Brasil no PROIC UnB 2017/201. Atuou como estagiária de Antropologia no projeto Culturas Vivas sob a coordenação do Centro de Trabalho Indigenista, com o objetivo de pesquisar o acervo etnográfico e divulgar o Memorial dos Povos Indígenas. Foi vinculada ao Laboratório de Estudos e Pesquisas sobre Movimentos Indígenas, Políticas Indígenas e Indigenismo-LAEPI e Observatório de Direitos e Políticas Indígenas-OBIND. Tem interesse nas áreas de Antropologia e Educação, com ênfase em cultura material, etnomuseologia, mediação de exposições e metodologias alternativas de educação.
Luiza Tanuri holds a degree of social science from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and has more than a decade of experience working with grassroots movements both in Brazil and the United States. As a consultant from Promundo, Luiza supports the coordination of field work in the city of Rio de Janeiro as well playing the role of international consultant for Promundo International. Luiza has worked as a community organizer with New York City’s largest immigrant led organization called Make the Road NY, organizing undocumented and at risk youth. Luiza has experience with advocacy, civic engagement and popular education. Areas of expertise are the themes of gender, youth and immigration.
